Rice not only good for eating

Have you ever dropped your cell phone in water or milk??  What did you do??  Have a panic attack??  Well don't.  If you can get your phone help asap you might be able to save it.  My son dropped his phone in milk while he was eating cereal, the phone work for a minute, but after that it would cut on and off.  Well he did't know what to do, so we goggled.  We found that rice would help.  So what we did was take the back off the phone, took the battery out, took the memory card out, and put the phone and battery, and memory card into a bowl.  After that we poured dry rice over the phone, battery, and memory card.  you got to cover it all completely.  We left it all in the bowl for 24 hours.  After 24 hours I put the phone back together and it worked.  I told my best friend about it because she is always dropping her phone in the toliet or bathtub, and she tried it and it worked too.  So if you ever drop your phone in a liquid try rice before taking it somewhere to get fixed.

Pray for Newtown

Pray for the families of Newtown, Conn.  Pray they have peace and healing in this time of sorrow.  What a horrible tragedy, that can't be explained.  These little children that lost their lives to this horrible person, didn't deserve this, nobody did.  As we are getting ready for Christmas, these poor families are mourning the loss of their children, wives, mothers, their teachers and their friends.  What can we do??  We PRAY!!  Thank God for our family and be kind to one another.
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.  Ephesians 4:32  I'm not sure how these families can forgive the monster that did this.  Only by the GRACE of God, can they forgive this person.
The bible says..bear ye one another's burdens and so fulfil the law of Christ, Galatians 6:2.  These children are in the arms of our heavenly father and nobody will ever hurt them again. They are little ANGELS!!  The children who seen it happen, pray for them.  They seen more than most people will ever see.  This is so sad, and it breaks my heart.  I know it breaks everybody's heart, especially if you have children of your own.  Give your children a hug and tell them you love them EVERYDAY!!

cleaning with vinegar

cleaning ideas with vinegar include:

Floors

No-wax floors
To wash no-wax floors, add ½ cup of white distilled vinegar to a half-gallon of warm water.
Carpet stain removal:
A mixture of 1 teaspoon of liquid detergent and 1 teaspoon of white distilled vinegar in a pint of lukewarm water will remove non-oily stains from carpets. Apply it to the stain with a soft brush or towel and rub gently. Rinse with a towel moistened with clean water and blot dry. Repeat this procedure until the stain is gone. Then dry quickly, using a fan or hair dryer. This should be done as soon as the stain is discovered.

Windows & Walls

Streakless windows
Window cleaning with vinegar will make your windows gleam and will not leave the usual film or streaks on the glass. Mix equal parts of white distilled vinegar and warm water. Dry with a soft cloth.

Kitchen

Coffee maker cleaner (automatic):
White distilled vinegar can help to dissolve mineral deposits that collect in automatic drip coffee makers from hard water. Fill the reservoir with white distilled vinegar and run it through a brewing cycle. Rinse thoroughly with water when the cycle is finished. (Be sure to check the owner’s manual for specific instructions.)
Clean the microwave:
Boil a solution of 1/4 cup of white distilled vinegar and 1 cup of water in the microwave. Will loosen splattered on food and deodorize.
Deodorize the kitchen drain:
Pour a cup of white distilled vinegar down the drain once a week. Let stand 30 minutes and then flush with cold water.
Clean the refrigerator:
Wash with a solution of equal parts water and white distilled vinegar.

Bathroom

Bathtub film:
Bathtub film can be removed by wiping with white distilled vinegar and then with soda. Rinse clean with water.
Shower doors:
Rub down shower doors with a sponge soaked in white distilled vinegar to remove soap residue.
Toilet bowl cleaner:
Stubborn stains can be removed from the toilet by cleaning with white distilled vinegar and brushing vigorously. The bowl may be deodorized by adding 3 cups of white distilled vinegar. Allow it to remain for a half hour, then flush.
Unclog the showerhead:
Corrosion may be removed from showerheads or faucets by soaking them in white distilled vinegar overnight. This may be easily accomplished by saturating a terry cloth towel in vinegar and wrapping it around the showerhead or faucet.
Health
Relief from Heartburn
For relief of heartburn or acid indigestion, take one or two tablespoons of balsamic vinegar.
Soothe a bee or jellyfish sting:
Douse with vinegar. It will soothe irritation and relieve itching.
Relieve sunburn:
Lightly rub white distilled or cider vinegar on skin. Reapply as needed.
Relieve dry and itchy skin:
Add 2 tablespoons of vinegar to your bath water.

After shampooing, rinse with a solution of ½ cup vinegar and 2 cups of warm water.
Soothe a sore throat:
Put a teaspoon of vinegar in a glass of water. Gargle, then swallow. For another great gargle: 1 cup hot water, 2 tablespoons honey, 1 teaspoon vinegar, gargle then drink.

Ocean pics to warm you up

All these were taken in St. Simons Island Ga.   The bird joined us on our morning walk along the beach.

This is the St. Simons Lighthouse.  They say its haunted. Its a long way to the top. But the walk is worth it.  Imagine the view of the ocean from the top of the lighthouse.

This is a beautiful picture of my 2 sons.
Check out this sunset and the bird.  I took this from the pier.  My family and myself go here every year.  Its a good family vacation spot.  I've been to other places, but this seems to be our favorite.  But watch out for the sharks and jellyfish.

The Meaning of The Candy Cane

Many years ago, a candy maker wanted to make a candy that would symbolize the TRUE meaning of Christmas-JESUS!!
The hard candy was shaped like a "J" to represent that Jesus is our rock of all ages.  The candy was made of white to stand for the purity of Jesus.  The red represents the blood that Jesus shed to save us from our sins.
So, next time you see a candy cane, take a minute to remember the real meaning of Christmas.

Toys for Tots

Do you have a Toys for Tots event in your area?  If you don't know, find out.  You can donate a toy to a child who might not get a gift if not for the generous people who can help.  You will make a child's day.  Just imagine the look on their face when they receive a gift.  There are less fortunate people out in the world, we need to be thankful for all we have.  http://www.toysfortots.org/

Stone Mountain Christmas

One of my boys favorite movies is The Polar Express.  At Stone Mountain you can experience The Polar Express in 4-D.  It's a 20 minute show based on the inspiring and beloved childrens book by Chris Van Allsburg.  Strobe lights are used during the show.  What an exciting adventure to enjoy with your family.

Snow Mountain at StoneMountain

Georgia's Stone Mountain park has alot to offer for the family, and Snow Mountain is just the beginning.  Stone Mountain Park transforms into a winter wonderland with Snow Mountain.  Atlanta's only snow park.  So bundle your family up and get ready for snow tubing, snowballs, snowmen, and snow angels.  You can take a break from all the fun and enjoy warming up your toes, roasting marshmellows, and everyones favorite....s'mores.

Yummy Cookies

Ok...I tried making no bake cookies which are delicious no matter what, but something is lacking as far as them not getting hard.  My sister said maybe its the quick oats.  I"ll buy different oatmeal and try again..I followed the recipe as I was suppose too.  But like I said they are good no matter what, even if they are gooey.  If you have never ate them, I recommend getting the recipe and making some.  You and your family will enjoy them.

Our Tree

Here is a picture or our Christmas Tree.  We went to pick out our tree and couldn't wait to get home to decorate it.  As soon as we got home, my boys made a wreath and my husband made on too.  We decorated those too.  We love the smell of Christmas trees.  Our tree is about 6 1/2 feet tall.  We have a little of everything on our tree...from candy canes to some very small snoopy ornaments.  We had a lot of fun and love spending time together as a family.

Christmas in the park

On Saturday December 1, 2012 my family and my sisters family went to our local mall for Christmas in the park.  It was fun for people of all ages.  There was also a fair with alot of rides.  We all had a blast.  My boys rode a lot of the rides that I won't ride, but I did manage to ride the tilt a whirl.  We also rode the ferris wheel.  My boys rode together, and my husband and me rode together.  My husband was yelling don't move, don't rock it.  my boys were yelling momma so I looked back and up to see them and my hubby bought had a fit.  He said, "no no don't move".   I'm  usually the one nervous on those rides.  But we had a blast.  We also seen the tree light up, it was pretty.  By the end of the evening we were tried.  If there are any Christmas activities around your area I recommend you and your family go, and enjoy.
