Water water water

For the past 3 weeks I have been drinking water, I mean nothing but water throughout the day.  I've always been a water drinker, but about 4-5 weeks ago I noticed I had slacked off a lot on my water.  I was drinking more tea or not enough.  I don't know, but I got an UTI/bladder infection.  So now on my menu of drinks ain't nothing but water.  Every morning I make my husband coffee and I'll pour myself half a cup, and take maybe 2 or 3 sips of it.  In 3 weeks I haven't had a full cup of coffee, a glass of tea, or soda.  I think I'm water logged..lol.  Not really.  I love water, but I would love to sit down with a glass of sweet tea with lemon.  When I do decide to have that glass of tea, I'm sure I'll have a bottled water right there beside it.  So to all you carbonated drink drinkers, give water a chance.  Water is actually good for you.  Add a squirt of lemon to it, it gives it a different taste.

Time flies

Wow!!  It's been almost 1 year since I posted a blog.  Time flies by so fast, and I know sometimes it flies by too fast.  My youngest son is almost 15 and my oldest is almost 19.  Did I just say that??  I can't believe it.  It seems like yesterday they we were babies.  No matter how old they get though, they will always be my babies.  My babies are handsome young Christian men, and I am so blessed to have them.  I am so lucky God chose me to be their mom.  My boys are my strength and they have made me who I am.  I love my 2 boys so much and I am so proud of them.
My marriage of 4 years has also flown by.  I can't believe it's been 4 years already.  Ups and downs are part of it, but I love the ups.  The downs, yes we learn and grow from them, but those are also the times when hearts get broke and it seems as if our world has been turned upside down.  But its our love for one another and 1st and foremost our love for God that has gotten us through a lot.  Put GOD first in everything.

Georgian seeking strangers for a kidney..how you can help.

I heard the story of a man on Fox 5 news (in Atlanta GA) this afternoon in need of a kidney.  How you can help. Larry Miller is a man on a mission.  He is looking for a stranger who is willing to be a living kidney donor.  He is a 79 year old marine veteran who now needs someone's help.  His kidneys are damaged by medications, he's lost about 8% of his kidney function, and he is praying he doesn't need to go on kidney dialysis.  So he and his wife are getting the word out that they need help.
Miller said'" he asked them if they will not, if they're not in a position to offer a kidney, please pray for him.  So one way or another, he feels that he's going to get a kidney donor."  He is at Emory Hospital, so if you or someone you know might want to help him please call Emory Hospital and ask to speak to a transplant coordinator.

My husband is a living kidney donor.  He donated on June 26, 2013.  He said he would do it again if he could.  In the beginning of all this he got curious and wanted to bless someone, so he found out everything he would have to do to see if he was healthy enough to donate.  He had all kinds of test ran, blood drawn, and x-rays.  Everything came back normal.  The step after all that was to find a recipient a match.  After a few potential matches didn't match 100% we got a call about a woman who needed a kidney and my husband was to do more blood work because matching this woman was like finding a needle in a haystack.  Everything matched, and on June 26 2013 my husband donated his kidney, and the kidney was flown to Michigan and the woman received her blessing the same day his kidney was removed.  She and new kidney is doing good.   My husband is doing great.  He experienced a lot of pain afterwards but that's to be expectant, it was a major surgery.  Then came the gas pain which I don't think he expected to be as bad as it was.  But day by day he got to feeling better.

If this touches your heart and you feel like you would like to help Mr. Miller or anybody else in need of a kidney, contact a transplant coordinator in your area.

There are just over 3,500 Georgians are caught up in a medical waiting game.  They need a kidney, but don't have a donor.
