Police dog's farewell to partner

A 33-year-old K-9 officer, Jason Ellis gunned down last month in what authorities believe was an ambush.  Fido, Ellis' police dog, was there, too, placing his paw on the closed casket—a moment captured in a heartbreaking photo.   This goes to show what has always been said, is true..a dog is a man's best friend.  Now Fido is retired and lives with the fallen officers family.  The mayor stated, "the boys grew up with Fido, and this is a connection to their father they can keep".  Officer Ellis is survived by his wife and children.  To his family, may God comfort you and give you peace in this time of sorrow.  You are in our prayers.
